In October of 2023, our team embarked on a transformative journey to Esteli, Nicaragua, a region renowned as the tobacco capital of the world. With a mission to forge partnerships and explore new avenues in the cigar industry, our trip promised to be an unforgettable experience.
Departing from Los Angeles International Airport, we embarked on a midnight flight filled with anticipation. Accompanied by a diverse group including investors, partners, and friends, our journey was fueled by the promise of adventure and discovery.
Upon our arrival in Managua, Nicaragua’s capital, we were greeted by the region’s trademark humidity—a telltale sign of fertile soil and ideal conditions for tobacco cultivation. As we made our way to Esteli, winding through lush greenery and ascending in elevation, the sight of active volcanoes on the horizon served as a reminder of the region’s natural beauty and geological richness.

Our accommodations, nestled in the outskirts of Esteli, provided a serene retreat amidst the rugged landscape. Despite encountering some challenges, we embraced the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the local environment.
The following days were filled with exploration and discovery as we ventured into the heart of Nicaragua’s tobacco country. Visiting farms and facilities, we gained firsthand insight into the artistry and craftsmanship behind each leaf. From seedling to harvest, we witnessed the meticulous care and attention to detail that goes into cultivating premium tobacco.
Meeting with industry leaders, we delved into discussions about the complexities of the tobacco trade and the importance of quality control. Despite encountering some skepticism and resistance, we remained steadfast in our commitment to ethical sourcing practices and fair trade principles.

One of the highlights of our trip was a dinner hosted by one of the major tobacco suppliers from Nicaragua—a gathering of like-minded individuals passionate about cigars and the traditions that surround them. Over home-cooked meals and premium cigars, we shared stories, exchanged ideas, and forged connections that would shape the future of our endeavors.
As we reflected on our journey back to the United States, we were filled with a profound sense of gratitude and purpose. Our time in Nicaragua had not only deepened our understanding of the tobacco industry but had also reaffirmed our commitment to integrity, innovation, and ethical business practices.
In the days and weeks that followed, we continued to build upon the relationships forged during our trip, laying the groundwork for future collaborations and endeavors. With each step forward, we remained guided by the belief that great cigars are not just products—they are a testament to tradition, craftsmanship, and the enduring spirit of exploration.
